ISER

Focus

Industrial and Systems Engineering Review (ISER) is an open-access journal published by the West Point Press and aimed at the advancement of industrial and systems engineering theory and practice as applied to any enterprise system.

ISER is dedicated to showcasing scholarship that introduces innovative methodologies and theoretical advancements, to propel enterprise systems forward and address complex real-world challenges effectively.

Scope

ISER seeks to publish regular research papers containing new theoretical foundations, case studies, research notes, literature reviews, and professional commentaries.

  • Full-length research articles(15-page limit): a discussion and presentation of well-developed research ideas; ISER is especially interested in undergraduate research efforts for full-length research articles.
  • Research notes(5-page limit): powerful summaries of a promising research effort; preference will be given to researchers with novel ideas with strong promise for future publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Professional commentaries(10-page limit) – ISER seeks experienced professionals willing to share their valuable experiences and perspective on a unique aspect of industrial and systems engineering. This is not a research article – this is a forum to share wisdom and knowledge.
  • Literature reviews(30-page limit) – ISER seeks survey papers that organize and synthesize important published literature related to a compelling ISE topic.

ISER encourages submissions related to any enterprise system, whether it is manufacturing, service, healthcare, or other, in topic areas related, but not restricted to the following categories:

  • Engineering Economics / Cost Estimation
  • Engineering Management / Organizational Behavior
  • Facility Location / Plant Layout
  • General Systems Theory
  • Human Factors / Ergonomics / Safety
  • Optimization and Operations Research
  • Process Improvement
  • Production Schedule and Control
  • Quality
